The Toyota Cup set to revolutionise NRL in 2008

The Toyota Cup is set to revolutionise the National Rugby League in 2008 when Toyota’s new major sponsorship kicks off March 16, 2008.

Toyota’s sponsorship of the NRL will bring a whole new level to the game, with the introduction of the Toyota Cup – a national Under-20s competition showcasing teams of Australia’s finest junior talent competing for the Toyota Cup to be held at the end of the season.
Stretching beyond a standard corporate sponsorship, Toyota will also help develop training courses to support players off the field and build skills for life after footy – a refreshing addition to the training program.

Training for the Toyota Cup will emphasise a balance between training, education and career opportunities.
Helping young players to excel as elite sportsmen, Toyota’s support of the NRL also provides an educational stepping stone fostering a new generation of multi-skilled players prepared for life outside the game.
The Toyota Cup will operate as a semi-professional competition, separate from the Telstra Premiership, and will include all 16 NRL clubs.
