Ford Driver Switches Camps To Give ARC A Toyota Based Boost

Former Ford works driver Darren Windus has switched camps and will be behind the wheel of the ex works S2000 Toyota Corolla at his home event the QUIT Forest Rally in WA next week.

Windus has secured a deal with Neal Bates Motorsport to run the ex Simon Evans Corolla in WA and hopefully in the remaining rounds of the ARC this year providing a major boost to the series.

Windus, a former ARC Privateer’s Cup winner will run alongside reigning ARC champ Neal Bates in the two car Corolla team as Bates attempts to win his fifth Australian title.

Queensland co-driver, John Allen, will sit alongside Windus in the rapid Coroilla in WA.

Toyota unleashes V6 HiLux Heroes

Toyota Australia has teamed up with some of Australia’s top professional drivers to form the V6 HiLux Heroes stunt driving team.

The V6 HiLux Heroes will pilot slightly modified versions of the 4×2 V6 Toyota HiLux, Australia’s best-selling ute.

Toyota highlighted its commitment to sustainable mobility, Geneva Motor Show 2008

At the Geneva Motor Show 2008, Toyota highlighted its commitment to sustainable mobility. The company also offered the world premiere of its solution to urban mobility, the iQ concept, which is now ready for production.

At the press conference, Andrea Formica, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Toyota Motor Europe, said: β€œIn recent years, the Prius has moved from an environmental icon to a high-selling model in Europe.”

Toyota Outlines Motorsports Activities for 2008
